EPL: Solskjaer issues warning to those saying Cristiano Ronaldo is old

Manchester United manager Gunnar Solskjaer has told critics of Cristiano Ronaldo the Portuguese is even excited by the conversations about his age.

Many football fans believe 36-year-old Ronaldo is already too old to play for Manchester United and receive the weekly salary he will receive at Old Trafford.

The 36-year-old left Juventus and returned to Manchester United, where he spent six years earlier in his career.

The Red Devils confirmed on Friday that an agreement has been reached with Juventus under which the four-time Ballon d’Or winner will join the squad.

Transfer formalities have yet to be finalized and the Portuguese captain was unable to make his Wolves debut on Sunday.

“Of course we are excited about the whole history of Cristiano at Manchester United,” Solskjaer told reporters.

“The players are excited …

“I’m sure he likes everything about ‘he’s too old’. Make it personal and he’ll show what he can do.”
