Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said the paperwork is the delay behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s official presentation.
United announced on Friday that they had reached an agreement to sign the 36-year-old from Juventus.
However, the transfer has yet to be finalized and Solskjaer looks forward to welcoming him to the squad once the paperwork is done.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports on Sunday: “I hope we can sort through the paperwork and announce it. He’s a great player, a great human being.
“I am delighted to continue to build this team. It will bring something completely different.
“I think everyone is looking forward to having Cristiano, the paperwork done and working with him.
“I hope Cristiano can come and show what he’s done in his career. We know he’s a more experienced player than when he was here last time, he’s grown and had an incredible career. “
