Chelsea defender Thiago Silva admitted it had made him “really sad” that Paris Saint-Germain signed former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
The veteran defender, who was cleared to leave Ligue 1 in 2020, said he was injured by the club’s decision to bring in the Spain star.
Thiago Silva regretted that they did not offer him similar treatment when he was young with Ramos.
Ramos is one of the many high-level signings at Parc des Princes this summer.
Silva, who is entering his sophomore year at Chelsea after leaving PSG last season, told ESPN Brazil: He was the same age when he was years old. like me last year, ”the 36-year-old told ESPN Brazil.
“It made me really sad. I haven’t told anyone yet, because I was very sorry because I felt that I had not done anything for the club.
“My departure is a page that has undoubtedly turned, but at the same time I think a lot, I think a lot about everything that has happened. I think something more could have been done.
“Because it had not been eight days or eight months that I was at PSG. It was eight years with a lot of victories, a lot of work to be able to change and bring PSG to the level it is today.
“I want PSG to win, because the club deserve all respect. But, looking at the way things have gone, I have this feeling of sadness and I feel like it could have been done differently.”
