Juventus suffered a surprising 1-0 home loss to Empoli on Saturday as they started their life without Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Turin giants struck a deal with Manchester United to sell Ronaldo earlier this week.
Apart from a few long shots from Federico Chiesa, Max Allegri’s men did not threaten to score in the first half.
Newly promoted Empoli scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute when captain Leonardo Mancuso swept the ball to the far post.
After the break, Allegri brought Álvaro Morata, Dejan Kulusevski and newcomer Manuel Locatelli off the bench. But they still have a hard time knocking down visitors.
Juventus have just one point left in their first two Serie A matches.
