Premier League defenders won’t be scared of you – Jordan tells Ronaldo

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has warned Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo he will no longer scare Premier League defenders away.

According to him, Ronaldo will fight against the best defenders in the league.

Manchester United made Ronaldo’s return to the club official on Tuesday, with the player almost ready to make his United debut against Newcastle after the international break.

“In big games, I don’t think Ronaldo is going to put the fear of God on Virgil van Dijk,” Jordan told talkSPORT.

“I don’t think Ronaldo puts fear of God in some of these center-backs.

“But that will probably put the fear of God at Crystal Palace or Wolverhampton Wanderers or Burnley or Brentford or Newcastle United.

“If you have high-chance players who play good center-backs, we’ll see if Ronaldo can still turn the screw to a level that I doubt he can.

“It’s one thing to play Italian football, which I know has a very defensive and technical mentality, but it’s not that physical or that fast.

“There will come a time when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wins something, if you keep buying footballers worth £ 150million you will win something at some point!”
