Transfer deadline: Arsenal banishes top player from first team

Arsenal have banned star Ainsley Maitland-Niles from first-team training.

Before banning the player, the Gunners blocked Ainsley’s hopes of joining Everton.

The England international was hoping to move to Everton as he was desperate to play for the first team next season.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at West Brom and has made it clear to the manager that he wants to leave the club.

Arsenal have rejected an offer from Everton and the Mirror claim the midfielder has since been told he will not be training with the first team.

With the transfer window closing on August 31, the Gunners must decide whether to sanction the player’s departure or keep a disgruntled player until at least January.

Rafa Benitex Everton could also rekindle their interest in the player and it could be that the Gunners are looking for a permanent deal before allowing the 24-year-old to leave.

They had said on Instagram that they “didn’t want him” in the UAE and that he just wanted to play first-team football elsewhere.

“All I want to do is go where they want me to go and where I’m going to play,” Maitland-Niles wrote on Instagram. “
